Focus Course – Getting Started in Wrist Arthroscopy
Wrist arthroscopy now holds an essential place in the diagnosis and treatment of many wrist conditions. Its practice requires a thorough knowledge of anatomy, mastery of minimally invasive techniques, and a specific learning curve.
This training day was dedicated to an introduction to wrist arthroscopy, aiming to guide participants through their first steps in this demanding and constantly evolving discipline.
The programme combined theoretical teaching, technical demonstrations and discussions on the current indications for arthroscopic and minimally invasive wrist procedures.
Course programme
- Getting started in wrist arthroscopy
- Wrist ganglion cysts and the wafer procedure
- Capsulodesis and treatment of TFCC injuries
- Endoscopic carpal tunnel release
- Four-corner arthrodesis
- Tendon and ligament procedures
Beyond the technical aspects, this day allowed for discussion of indications, pitfalls to avoid, and strategies for the progressive integration of these techniques into daily practice.
These courses contribute to the wider adoption of minimally invasive wrist techniques and to the sharing of experience between surgeons, with the aim of improving the care of patients with complex wrist conditions.
